Peter Griffin's bathtub-loving, accident-prone neighbor, Cleveland Brown may be getting his own spin-off.
Word is that Fox and the show's producer, 20th Century Fox, are developing a spin-off from their hit 'Family Guy' series centered on Peter Griffin's friend and neighbour.
The animated series in deveopment, tentatively titled 'Cleveland', will be coming from show creator Seth MacFarlane, with the same writers, including former Simpsons writer Rich Appel and Mike Henry, the voice of the character.
Cleveland is said to have met Peter Griffin in the 70s, when Peter was attempting to hitchhike a ride back to Rhode Island, and they've been friends since. As a running gag in the show, Cleveland is often shown taking baths when Peter's antics destroy his house.
Fox has been trying to find another animated comedy to fit in its Sunday lineup, and believe 'Cleveland' could fit the bill. 'Family Guy' has quickly become a $1 billion franchise since its return in 2005, after what was largely an unwarranted cancellation.
