Eva Mendes [photos] was a guest on the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on Friday night and talked about her new 'Calvin Klein' perfume and, of course, her nude ad promoting the fragrance which is banned from US network television.
Mendes told Leno she couldn't understand why the tasteful ad was banned from American network TV but thought it was because "we are a little uptight when it comes to nudity" even though "we're very quick to show something blowing up or even guns."
But Leno had a suggestion to get around the problem, "You know what we should do? Blow up naked people. That way you can have your violence and your nudity."
Asked how the ad came about, Mendes said that even though she knew that she would have to be nude for the ad, Eva thought it would be an easy day at the office when she saw the script was her rolling around on bed with a white sheet.
But that changed when the sheet she was holding slipped while shooting the scene, and she ended up flashing a bit of nipple.
It was only afterwards that producers noticed the slight slip and told her they had a bit of a 'situation' and would have to reshoot the ad. But when Eva reviewed the tape, she thought it actually looked better and more sensual because of the slight slip and so they decided to go with it as the final cut.
