NBC Moves Up 'Chuck' With More Episodes, Cancels 'Trauma'
NBC has ordered additional episodes of 'Chuck' and chosen not to renew its medical drama 'Trauma'. 'Chuck', which was given a thirteen episode renewal for season three, has been given six more episodes to bring its total to nineteen. While the initial order of thirteen is exactly where low rated 'Trauma' will come to an end. The additional episode order is good news for the Buy More geek on two fronts. Not only does it indicate a stronger commitment from NBC, it also hints that the network may be thinking about bringing the series back earlier than originally anticipated. The network definitely has a few open slots in its lineup after cancelling 'Southland' earlier this month and now dropping 'Trauma'. Word is that 'Chuck' could return to the NBC schedule as early as January. It was originally not supposed to air until March, after the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. This is definitely welcome news for fans of the show, however, it may lose out on the strong promotion it was in line for during the Olympics. NBC's other two freshman series, 'Community' and 'Mercy', have already been picked up for a full season.
