'Ghostbusters 3' is moving along and plans to start production in the summer, according to Harold Ramis.
In an interview with 'Heeb' magazine, Ramis, who played Dr. Egon Spengler in the original, spoke about the prospective timeline for the film.
"Dan Aykroyd did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it," he explains.
"Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel."
"We'll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too."
"Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future... It is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011."
Sony has already signed Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, writer-producers from 'The Office', to work on the reboot of the 1980s franchise.
The film will center around a new cast of bumbling Ghostbusters, but Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis are all expected to appear in the movie to hand over the torch.
