Producers: No Sequels For 'Lost'; Cynthia Watros To Finally Return

'Lost' producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof say when the show finally ends in May, there won't be any room for a sequel.

"We are definitively ending this story and these characters in May," Cuse said at the Television Critics Association event on Tuesday. "There's not going to be an implanted sequel, no backdoor pilot."

Cuse added fans should expect a "healthy cocktail of mysteries, answers, surprises, and character resolution" but not everything will be resolved.

"That would be too pedantic. I don't think it would be 'Lost' if there wasn't any arguing and active debate among the viewers about whether or not it was a good ending," explained Lindelof. "If I could put on my predicting hat, there's going to be some that think it's the worst ending in the history of TV, and on the other end, to balance that out, would be my mom."

And for the first time, after a writer's question, Cuse confirmed that, even with so many flash-backs and flash-forwards into the future, fans had not already seen the ending in a previous episode.

They also revealed that Cynthia Watros has finally agreed to be back as Libby to resolve her story. Although they already spilled her story last summer when they didn't think fans would receive any closure to her arc on screen. It will be interesting to see how close they keep to that story.

Finally, The two said they are relieved that President Obama's State of the Union address won't air the night 'Lost' returns on February 2.

"It's one of those surreal moments. You can't quite believe it and it's exciting for us to get to that level," Cuse said, in reference to the uproar from fans when the date was floated around for the speech. "We're happy not to have to move our premiere. We're very happy that it is a non-issue."

"You realize how fickle your political affiliation is," Lindelof joked. "I'm a lifelong Democrat and when I heard he was first considering February 2, I was like, 'That motherf---er.'"

"Get ready to scratch your heads, America," Lindelof teased of the premiere episode. He said actress Emilie de Ravin, who is back this year, had to read the script three times before it made any sense.
