Sean Penn, who has been helping relief workers in Haiti, has some harsh words for those who think he's only taking part in relief efforts to take the attention off his divorce from Robin Wright.
"I guess I've been so away from it all at our tent camp in Haiti that I haven't had an awful lot of time to pay attention to them," Penn told CBS on Sunday morning.
"Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah, you know, but I'm not going to spend a lot of energy on it."
Penn helped aid workers purchase new X-ray machines, ventilators and water filters on his most recent visit to the earthquake-ravaged country.
When asked how much he had donated to the cause, Penn replied with a laugh: "Enough that I'd better get a job soon."
Robin Wright Penn filed for divorce from Penn last year, after a 20-year marriage that was filled with ups and downs.
The actor also revealed that he wants to get his 16-year-old and 18-year-old involved in the relief effort.
"They're gonna help," he said. "I think that they've had the experience, as I have, that the first person served by service is the server. You know, there's nobody in the world that isn't looking for a kind of purpose in life, and tangible purpose is the most immediately recognizable."
