An appearance on 'Live with Regis and Kelly' by 'America's Most Wanted' host John Walsh has helped nab a murderer.
After his interview on Friday's edition of the show with Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa [photos] to promote the 1000th episode of 'America's Most Wanted', a segmented aired featuring the case of Albert James Turner Jr.
And within hours of the broadcast, Turner, who was placed on the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list just last week, was in custody thanks to a viewer tip that led to an incident-free arrest at a Concord, NC mall.
Turner, a former Texas state corrections officer, was wanted for stabbing his wife and mother-in-law Betty Joe Frank -- in front of his children. He had been on the run since December 27, 2009.
"Thanks to America's Most Wanted and a viewer tip, Turner will now get a different perspective of what it is like to be in a prison," John F. Clark, Director of the US Marshals Service, says in a statement.
"The fact that he committed horrible crimes in front of his children makes his capture even more satisfying."
