Ballerina Karina Sarkissova Nude Photos Get Her Axed
The management of the prestigious institution says solo dancer Karina Sarkissova was axed after a series of provocative photos of her appeared in the September issue of the Austrian magazine 'Wiener.' A statement Friday said she had already been reprimanded previously when it got hint that Karina Sarkissova may be planning to get naked. "She was fired after this new publication," says Dominique Meyer. He is especially unhappy with the magazine's angle on the photos: "On the cover of the magazine, you could read 'The ballerina nude, the ballet as we love it.". "The ballet corps has been shocked by these images which appeared in the sex section." He added that this is the first time they've faced this kind of a situation. Sarkissova is an Austrian dancer of Russian origin. She joined the Vienna Opera ballet in 2000 and in comments to the Austrian media, she has said she felt discriminated against.
The management of the Vienna State Opera and its ballet company has fired a ballerina for posing in the nude (uncensored link) after she was warned not to do it.
