"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," the singer says in a brief statement.
The couple met in 2002 when Bratman worked as a producer on one of her albums. They married three years later and welcomed their son in January 2008.
The statement didn't indicate when the couple split or whether either would file for divorce. But, for now, court records in Los Angeles do not show any filing by either Aguilera or Bratman.
The news means Christina Aguilera will be arriving alone at the premiere of her film, 'Burlesque'. The film, co-starring Cher, is set to be released in theaters November 24.
