Man Shoots TV After Watching Bristol Palin On 'Dancing'
Bristol Palin may have had her best night to date on 'Dancing with the Stars' but for one Wisconsin man it just wasn't good enough. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Steven N. Cowan was allegedly so upset by Palin's performances on Monday night's that he fired a gun at his television, prompting a 15-hour standoff with police. Janice Cowan told police that her husband "jumped up and swore, saying something to the effect of, 'the f--king politics.' "Steven was upset that a political figure's daughter was dancing on this particular show when Steven did not think that she was a good dancer," the complaint notes. The 67-year-old, who authorities believe suffers from bipolar disorder, then retrieved his shotgun, which he loaded and fired at the TV, before allegedly pointing it at his wife, who fled the scene and called 911. She added that Cowan warned her that he would kill himself if she brought anyone back. Cowan kept police at bay outside his home for 15 hours before surrendering without incident on Tuesday morning. He is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment.
