JJ Abrams Casts 'Sons of Anarchy's Sarah Jones As 'Alcatraz' Lead

'Sons of Anarchy's Sarah Jones has been cast as the lead in JJ Abrams' pilot for 'Alcatraz'.

The drama will center on a group of missing Alcatraz prisoners and guards who reappear in the present day, after disappearing 30 years ago.

It will follow the efforts of a team of FBI agents to track them down and unravel the mystery behind their disappearance. Jones will play Rebecca Madsen, a smart but obsessive police officer.

She joins 'Lost' alum Jorge Garcia, who was the first actor cast in the series as Alcatraz expert Diego Soto.

Abrams is known for having a good eye for female talent. He cast Jennifer Garner on 'Alias', Evangeline Lilly (photosEvangeline Lilly photos) on 'Lost', Keri Russell (photosKeri Russell photos) on 'Felicity' and Anna Torv on 'Fringe'.

Jones is probably best known for her recurring role on FX's 'Sons of Anarchy' last season. She also appeared in recent guest spots on Fox's 'House' and the short-lived 'Lone Star'.
