David Arquette has checked himself into a live-in rehab center seeking treatment for alcohol, among other issues.
"He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable," a source tells 'People' magazine. "He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out."
During a recent interview with Howard Stern, Arquette confessed he had been "drinking a lot."
"Everybody's worried and concerned about me," he said. "When I drink, I become a maniac."
The 39-year-old and Courteney Cox [photos], 46, announced their separation after 11 years of marriage in October. The couple have a 6-year-old daughter together.
Meanwhile, Cox says she's happy that Arquette finally appears to be willing to make some changes.
"I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life," she says in a statement. "I love and support him."
