NBC Orders Pilot For 'Harry Potter'-Like Cop Drama From BSG's Moore
NBC has ordered a pilot episode for '17th Precinct'. Described as a "Harry Potter for grown ups", the ensemble cop drama from the creator behind the 'Battlestar Galactica' reboot, Ronald D. Moore, would take place in the fictional town of Excelsior that is ruled by magic instead of science. Moore is also currently working on another 'Battlestar Galactica' spin-off for the SyFy channel. Entitled 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome', the series would feature a young William Adama's experiences in the First Cylon War. It was originally designed as a series of 10-episode, 10-minute length promotional episodes, but with the cancellation of 'Caprica', the show is now being produced as a full television series which takes place forty years before 'Battlestar Galactica'. Word is that it will be shot completely with virtual sets and backdrops, like 'Sanctuary' on Syfy.
