Simon Cowell's 'X Factor' will have two hosts to differentiate itself from 'American Idol'.
"Our job is to make sure the two shows are as distinct as possible," Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of FremantleMedia North America, tells the latest issue of THR.
"In terms of casting the judges, again, we're making sure the looks are different and we'll have two hosts on The X Factor."
"We're making sure there are two entirely different teams with no overlap in terms of individuals who are working on both shows. And from a format and tonal standpoint, they're very different."
Some of you will recall that 'American Idol' also began with two hosts, Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman.
Dunkleman left the show before its second season because he didn't expect it to become the juggernaut it is today. A move he's been widely mocked for since his departure. Even Seacrest took a jab at him last season as he joked that Dunkleman would be hosting the Idol Gives Back special.
