'How I Met Your Mother' has finally found its Slutty Pumpkin.
Katie Holmes [photos] has been cast to play the previously referenced character in a special Halloween episode of the CBS comedy set to air next month.
The 32-year-old former 'Dawson's Creek' star will play the woman mentioned in the series' first season who Ted once met at a Halloween party but later lost touch with.
She became to be called the Slutty Pumpkin because she was dressed as a pumpkin with strategically placed holes. After Lily accidentally threw away her phone number, Ted went to the same party, in the same costume for years, hoping to meet her again but never did.
"Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we've saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show's history," jokes co-creator Craig Thomas with New York Magazine.
