When former Miss USA Rima Fakih was arrested for drunk driving this past weekend, she was speeding with an open bottle of champagne.
Michigan police say the 26-year-old had a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit as she weaved through traffic while drinking from an uncorked champagne bottle.
The bottle was half empty by the time cops pulled her over in a black Jaguar and she "appeared disoriented and had very slurred speech," according to the police report.
Fakih, who had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent (the legal limit is 0.08), claimed she hadn't been drinking and told police "I swear, I didn't know" the champagne was open.
She he held "until she was sober for her safety and the safety of others."
When word of her arrest leaked out, former Miss Michigan laughably insisted that it wasn't her at all since she wasn't even in the state and people had the "wrong Fakih."
