NBC Considering Spin-Off Around 'The Office's Dwight Schrute
The network is said to be in the early planning states of the series that would revolved around the quirky 'Office' character. The series would take place on the farm, which also serves as a bed and breakfast, and involve several generations of Schrutes. Although the farm has been featured on the comedy several times, NBC plans to do a full episode to test the concept of the comedy in an episode later this season. Dwight is one of the most popular characters on the 'The Office' and the show is still one of the few high rated comedies on NBC, so it's not clear yet whether Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight, would take on double duty or move on from the flagship series. If the later were to happen, there's no doubt that ratings for 'The Office' would take another hit, a season after longtime star Steve Carell left the series.
