Health issues have forced 'America's Got Talent' host Nick Cannon to step down from his New York City radio show 'Rollin' with Nick Cannon'.
The 31-year-old, who is married to Mariah Carey [photos], was hospitalized this past weekend. A series of tests doctors discovered two blood clots in his lungs and an enlarged ventricle in his heart.
Doctors have ordered Cannon to get rest after he was also hospitalized earlier this year due to mild kidney failure.
"Under doctor's orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule," Cannon says in a statement.
"It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support."
"I will continue to host my syndicated Cannon's Countdown weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep."
"The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don't slow down and stop working so hard then it's a wrap! I guess I can't drive at 200 mph for the whole trip, Time to put the car in cruise control."
Nick Cannon still plans to host 'America's Got Talent' and since the show has relocated from Los Angeles to New York City, to accommodate new judge Howard Stern's schedule, the host won't have to battle any red-eye flights this season.
