Demi Lovato, who proudly showed off her bikini body after treatment for her eating disorder, says she's still dealing with issues.
In her 'Stay Strong' documentary that aired on MTV Tuesday night, the former Disney star opened up about the physical and mental issues she's suffering from.
"I dealt with looking in the mirror and never feeling good enough," she explained. "I felt like I was living a lie."
"I was dealing with all this pain, emotionally. And I felt guilt and shame. I decided to take it out on myself. I harmed myself."
"One of the hardest things was learning I was worth recovery," she said. "And I'm allowed to celebrate it, which is a great feeling."
"An addiction is an obsession, something that takes over your mind and your every thought. You think that you can't live without it. For me, it was not eating and purging and self-harming."
"I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment," she confessed. "I cannot tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment," said Lovato. "I'm not perfect."
But Lovato says her music "gives me a reason to live."
"Every time someone asks me for a picture or an autograph, even if I'm having a bad day and I'm in a bad mood, I remember, 'You're nothing without this person,'" she said. "They make it special."
