Lady Gaga will have to cancel her sold-out concert in Indonesia after protests by Islamic hard-liners, who complained the singer's sexy clothes and dance moves will "corrupt young people."
National police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar says Gaga's permit for her June 3 "Born This Way Ball" concert had been denied, following the protests.
Hard-liners have loudly complained that the suggestive dances, clothing and setup of her show will undermine the country's moral compass and corrupt the youth.
Local police said they would deny the permit after some threatened to use physical force to prevent her from stepping off the plane and making it to the concert.
Lady Gaga's concert in Jakarta's 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium had been sold out for months, with more than half the tickets being sold within two hours of them going on sale.
Indonesia, a nation of 240 million people, has more Muslims than any other. Although, notably, even Lady Gaga's South Korean concerts were limited to fans 18 or older after conservatives in the country raised concerns.
