BBC Host Jeremy Paxman is refuting Piers Morgan's claims that he didn't know anything about phone hacking and didn't use hacked phone messages during his time as the editor of a tabloid.
Paxman told the Leveson Inquiry into U.K. media ethics about a lunch he had with Morgan and TV personality Ulrika Jonsson in which the now CNN host teased Jonsson about a phone conversation she had with soccer coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.
"I don't know if he was making this up, making up the conversation," Paxman told the panel. "But it was clearly something he was familiar with and I wasn't. I didn't know that this went on."
"He then explained that the way to get access to people's message was to go to the factory default setting and press either 0000 or 1234 and that if you didn't put on your own code, his words were 'You're a fool'," Paxman added.
"Right -- that's the last time I'm inviting Jeremy Paxman to lunch," Morgan said on Twitter after the remarks were made. "Ungrateful little wretch."
