David Arquette has finally filed for divorce from Courteney Cox [photos], nearly two years after the pair announced they were separating after 11 years of marriage.
Arquette filed the papers on Friday in Los Angeles. However, the petition was signed in March, indicating the actor held on to it for three months before he decided to file.
Additionally, they announced their separation in October 2010, but Arquette's filing lists the separation date more than a year later at Dec. 31, 2011.
The 40-year-old, who is traveling overseas and had a bar mitzvah ceremony at Jerusalem's Western Wall on Monday, cites irreconcilable differences and is choosing to represent himself.
He is not requesting spousal support and seeking joint custody of his 7-year-old daughter with Cox. There is no mention of how his shared properties or assets with Cox will be divided.
