Russell Brand says he wasn't necessarily unhappy when his marriage to Katy Perry [photos] ended.
The 36-year-old British comedian briefly touched on the topic in an appearance on ITV's 'Lorraine'.
"I'm sorry that things didn't work out," began host Lorraine Kelly.
"When I was married?," Brand joked. "Well it did work out in a way because you are married for some time, and that's really good, and then you're not married, and that's really good."
"You just have to have acceptance of things. She is a person that I love, but now this is a new time."
After Lorraine said "it's a shame though because I thought you two were very suited," Brand philosophically replied: "Well we were for that amount of time, and now this is a new time."
"I suppose a divorce is difficult isn't it, because of the admin!," he quipped. "There's a lot of admin."
Brand explained he was in a good frame of mind because he was "in tune with some very really beautiful things."
"I don't want to sound like a lunatic," he said, "but if you meditate and do yoga you become attuned to that there is different energy that's constant and very, very beautiful. Some people would call it God, some people would call it karma or the cosmos, me - I call it sexual charisma."
Russell Brand also said he enjoyed working alongside Alec Baldwin in 'Rock of Ages'.
"He's so lovely. He's like sort of a big powerful, hairy, sexy uncle," he joked. "Which in the wrong circumstances could be a terrible thing. But in the circumstances that I found myself in it was really lovely. And he's really friendly, and he's really clever, and really sweet and gave me wonderful advice."
