'Once Upon a Time' has promoted Emilie de Ravin's Belle and Meghan Ory's Red to series regulars for season two.
The prospects for de Ravin's character looked good in the season one finale when she was sprung free after being held captive. However, the signing makes it official.
The fallout from Rumpelstiltskin's discovery that Regina/the Evil Queen was the one holding Belle captive will no doubt bring some storms to Storybrooke and form the basis for the battle between the two.
Meanwhile, Ory, who plays waitress Ruby/Red Riding Hood, will also have an increased role on the upcoming season after helping to unite Snow White and Prince Charming in the fairy-tale world.
It will also be interesting to see whether Ruby's alter-ego werewolf makes an appearance in now that the residents of Storybrooke are aware of their true identities.
De Ravin, best known for playing Claire Littleton on 'Lost', appeared in three episodes in the first season. She was set to star in the ABC drama 'Americana' until the network passed on the pilot.
