Jim Carrey has backed out of a 'Dumb and Dumber' with Jeff Daniels.
Carrey's publicist says the actor decided to leave because he became "increasingly frustrated" by Warner Bros. and New Line's lack of interest in 'Dumb and Dumber To' and did not understand the holdup for a sequel.
"I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer," says his rep. "After all, it's implied in the title. They really showed a lack of enthusiasm in the project."
Fans of the original 'Dumber and Dumber' have been clamoring for a sequel to the 1994 comedy and it appeared the project would being filming this fall.
However, the studio may have gotten cold feet after the Farrellys' 'The Three Stooges' grossed a meagre $43 million.
The original 'Dumb and Dumber' grossed over $247.2 million worldwide at the box office.
