Tennessee native Nathan Blankenship was tossed out at a Kenny Chesney concert by event security for looking too much like the singer.
Blankenship, a school teacher, had paid $200 for the ticket. But he was escorted out of Saturday's concert in Nashville after security said he was "purposely trying to impersonate a celebrity."
"I just thought he was going to lead me back to my seat," Blankenship tells WKRN in an interview, "which I would have been fine with -- but he grabs me by the arm and starts pulling me up the walkway to the very top. He just said that I was purposely trying to impersonate a celebrity so we're kicking you out."
"Is it because I wear the hat?," he asks. "I see a million of these hats here. I've worn baseball caps before and people still want to have pictures with me, but it's never caused a problem."
Blankenship says he was told he had to leave because "higher-ups" thought he was causing too much "confusion."
After the interview, Blankenship received a refund of his $200 ticket. Although he still doesn't see what the big deal was.
"I can't believe they think I'm actually him. Why would Mr. Chesney be in the crowd when Tim McGraw is singing?"
