CBS has resurrected the cancelled 'Unforgettable' with a 13-episode order targeted for next summer.
The network had axed the crime procedural starring Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh in May despite averaging 12.1 million viewers in its first season because of its strong crop of new shows.
"It started very strong in the beginning of the season," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said at the time. "Every show knows that when they get to end of their first season, they are gonna be in competition with new pilots, and that's what happened. We had a very strong, very good crop of pilots coming in. That forces you to make very difficult decisions."
However, CBS decided to give the drama another shot in a summer slot after Sony Pictures TV began shopping the series to other networks including TNT and Lifetime.
This will allow CBS to keep, what is believes, is its strong slate of freshman shows while providing fresh programming for the summer.
'Unforgettable' revolves around a female detective who has the ability remember everything she's ever seen, except the day her sister was murdered.
