Andy Griffith died from a heart attack, according to his death certificate filed on Thursday.
According to the record, the 86-year-old TV legend suffered a heart attack 24 hours before he died at 7 AM on Tuesday at his home on Roanoke Island, North Carolina.
It also states that Griffith had suffered for years with a variety of illnesses that included coronary artery disease, hypertension and high cholesterol.
Griffith was buried just over four hours after passed away on Tuesday. His family said he had requested to he be laid to rest as soon as possible.
