A Jordanian MP, Mohammed Shawabka, threw a shoe at one of his critics before pulling out a silver pistol during a television debate.
The incident occurred after the debate between Shawabka and activist Mansour Sayf al-Din Murad became heated when the critic accused the official of being a member of the Mossad, an Israeli intelligence agency that is hated and feared throughout the Middle East.
"You're a Mossad agent," said the activist, to which the MP replied: "You're a big crook."
The host on private satellite channel Jo Sat, Mohammad Habashneh, who was sitting between the men, urged his guests to "calm down" but they soon left their seats and tussled with one another.
The official will likely face charges for pulling the gun during the live talk show.
