'The Simpsons' has booked Zooey Deschanel to guest star in a New York City road trip episode on the upcoming season.
Fox has confirmed that the star of its breakout comedy 'New Girl' will feature as the long lost love of Bart Simpson, when the Simpson family travels to New York to help their son conquer his dream girl.
The 32-year-old Deschanel recently earned her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
"I have such a great job that's just such an incredible gift," she said upon receiving the news. "I always want to be doing the work because I love the work and not for some other reason. It just means so much to have this nomination."
Other guests for the show's 24th season, which begins September 30, include Steve Carell, who will play Homer's bowling buddy, NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, composer Marvin Hamlisch, and comedians Fred Armisen and Patton Oswalt.
