Warner Bros. has decided to postpone the release of 'Gangster Squad' in the wake of the Colorado movie theater shootings.
The studio, which had originally said it was going to make edits to the Mafia thriller, has announced it is pushing back the release indefinitely so it can reshoot scenes.
Warner Bros. is concerned that some of the film's scenes, which includes a shoot-out at Grauman's Chinese Theater, would be considered in poor taste given the recent real-life events that have shaken up the community of Aurora, Colorado.
The film, starring Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, follows the Los Angeles Police Department's attempts to take down the Mafia in the 1940s and 1950s.
The first trailer for 'Gangster Squad' was released earlier this month.
