Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, has been fined $8,600 and banned from entering Norway for 2 years, after being caught with marijuana while visiting the country for a music festival last month.
The rapper was also carrying more cash than legally allowed when entering Norway, which was the more serious of the two charges against him, according to authorities, thus explaining the high fine and eventual ban.
But despite being sniffed out by a canine unit while on his way to the festival with 8 grams of marijuana in his luggage, Snoop was allowed to play in the concert in the south of the Scandinavian country.
Dogg's legal representative in Norway, Holger Hagesaeter, said his client has opted not to appeal the ruling, quoting him as saying he "can live with the decision."
Snoop Dogg is well-known for advocating the use of marijuana and has openly admitted taking the drug.
He recently starred in a film depicting himself as a High School student encouraging the use of marijuana in "Mac and Devin go to High School."
