Scout Willis Avoids Jail, Gets Community Service For Underage Drinking: [ send to a friend ]
Scout Willis, the 21-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore [photos], has been sentenced to two days of community service by a Manhattan judge, after being caught drinking alcohol and providing a fake ID to police officers in June -- when she was still 20 and legally underage in New York.
The offer for community service was made to provide Willis with the opportunity to drop the pending charges, taking into consideration that both were first time misdemeanors and that Willis was a straight-A student at Brown University. She has until October 2nd to fulfil her obligations.
"There was no plea to any crime," insists Willis's attorney. "After a detailed assessment of this matter, this matter was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal."
Although it is not known what type of community service Willis will have to provide, her lawyer concluded that the resolution was fair, and added: "Ms. Willis did not receive any special treatment by the people."
The charges of underage drinking were contested when the prosecution indicated that Willis was caught in possession of an 8 ounce can of "Pakistani beer" in Manhattan's Union Square on June 4th.
It appears that the only Pakistani brewery in existence does not produce 8 ounce cans and does not have the necessary permit to export beer to the US. These anomalies remained unanswered before the Judge signed off on the deal.
