Sharon Osbourne Quits 'Talent' After NBC Drops Son From Reality Show

Sharon Osbourne has quit 'America's Got Talent' and she claims it's because of the way NBC treated her son after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Osbourne claims NBC dropped her son, Jack, from the network's new reality series, 'Stars Earn Stripes' simply because of his diagnosis.

"I just can't be fake," Osbourne tells the New York Post. "It's discrimination, and it was badly handled."

She says producers for the show,
which pits celebrities against one another in military training exercises, had cast Jack but dropped him two days before it was set to begin -- by email.

"We cannot move forward with Jack's participation," they said in the email. "The rigors of the show were too intense for him."

Jack, who had completed a 16-hour endurance race in January, offered to buy his own insurance policy but producers declined.

She admits the contract was never signed, but says a verbal commitment had been in place.

"I just didn't like the fact that it got out that it was because of money. It's not because of money."

"It's time to move on," says an unhappy Osbourne, who is prepared to face penalties for leaving the network early. "All they can do is stop me from being a judge on another network for five years."
