'X Factor' UK judge and singer Gary Barlow has heartbreakingly revealed that his fourth child was delivered stillborn over the weekend.
"Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we've lost our baby," the 41-year-old said in a statement of mourning through his agent. "Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4 in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We'd ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected."
Barlow and his wife Dawn, 42, have three other children, Daniel, Emily and Daisy.
They had been looking forward to the birth of Poppy, and announced the pregnancy to fans back in February, saying at the time that they were "a very excited family" and "there's gonna be another girl in the Barlow household!"
Dawn was reportedly eight-and-half months pregnant when she delivered Poppy.
"My thoughts & prayers are with Gary Barlow and wife dawn tonight," friend Tulisa Contostavlos said on Twitter. "Heartbreaking."
It was rumoured that Take That were to be part of the closing ceremony at this year's Olympic Games, in London, but it is not known whether this tragedy will affect those plans.
