Less than six months after being arrested for public intoxication, country singer Randy Travis was arrested again for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol after crashing his car in Texas.
The 53-year-old was also found stark naked after police responded to a 911 call reporting a man lying on the ground in the road on the road outside of the town of Tioga.
Travis, who refused to undergo a breathalyzer test, was also charged with resisting arrest and threatening police officers on the scene.
In a statement, the Grayson County Sheriff's Office said: "Travis had a strong odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath and several signs of intoxication. While Travis was being transported, Travis made threats to shoot and kill the troopers working the case."
It also confirmed that "when troopers arrived on the scene, Travis was not wearing clothing."
The singer appeared to have several cuts and bruises after his Pontiac Trans Am appeared to have swerved off the road and crashed into some barricades in a construction road. He was later released after paying a $21,500 bond, pending the results of a blood test to determine his alcohol level.
This is the second time this year that Travis is in trouble with the law. In February, he was arrested on charges of public intoxication after an officer found him drunk in his car with an open bottle of wine. He is also involved in an acrimonious legal battle with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Travis.
At the time of his first arrest, Travis blamed the incident on too much celebrating had publicly apologized to his fans, saying, "I'm committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions."
