Just days after being arrested for allegedly head-butting his wife and then having his contract with the Miami Dolphins terminated, VH1 has announced that it is cancelling Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson's reality show 'Ev & Ocho'.
In a statement the network said it was pulling the series, which was due to premiere on September 3rd: "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it."
Johnson's wife, Evelyn Lozada, is still recovering from the cut on her forehead caused by the incident, which was reportedly triggered by the discovery of a receipt in Johnson's car boot for condoms.
When Lozada confronted Johnson about it, he allegedly lashed out and head-butted her. Davie Police Captain Dale Engle told reporters,
"She has a pretty good laceration on her forehead," Davie Police Captain Dale Engle told reporters.
Lozada had predicted a bumpy ride in their marriage, when speaking to ABC Radio earlier this year: "I don't think you're always going to see us so in love. We're really in a real relationship just like anyone else."
She had also hinted at possible problems during the airing of another of Lozada's shows, also aired on VH1, 'Basketball Wives', when she said: "It's hard sometimes and I don't know if I'm always going to make the right decision. I don't know that he's always going to make the right decision. She went on to say that they planned to "be honest with each other with whatever's going on."
