Kristen Stewart [photos]'s Snow White may not appear in the sequel to 'Snow White and the Huntsman' at all.
Studio sources are saying that Universal plans to spin-off the film to focus only on the Huntsman character, played by Chris Hemsworth.
It's not clear whether Rupert Sanders will return to direct the project but with the move coming on the heels of an embarrassing cheating scandal for Stewart with the married director, it's likely he will return.
The original plan, according to sources, was to make two films featuring both Snow White and the Huntsman.
However, it's possible the studio now sees bigger potential for the franchise by simply moving ahead with Hemsworth and, more importantly, without Stewart, whose performance was met with harsh words by some critics.
Before the film opened, Stewart acknowledged she wasn't on contract for a sequel.
"We don't have to do it," Stewart said. "That's the coolest thing. There's no pressure. But to be able to expand on this would be awesome."
'Snow White and the Huntsman' earned $390 million worldwide on a budget of about $170 million.
