Disney is warning production on 'Iron Man 3' has been delayed after Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury.
"Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt," says Disney, which owns Marvel, in a brief statement.
"There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates."
No word on whether this will affect the film's scheduled May 3, 2013 release but it's not likely.
Other than Wilmington, the film is set to be shot in Raleigh, Miami, Florida and China.
Downey and new director Shane Black screened new footage and promised a "different and fresh" third installment last month.
