Olympic snowboarder Shaun White is apologizing after arrest for public intoxication and vandalism.
White is accused of drunkenly destroying a phone at Nashville's Loews Vanderbilt Hotel and pulling the fire alarm, forcing the hotel to evacuate all guests. He later ended up in the hospital after he hit his head while running from the scene.
"I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests," he says in a statement.
"I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior."
The 26-year-old won a gold medal in Turin at the 2006 Olympics and in 2010 at the Vancouver Games.
